Ha Long Carnival 2014 to kick off on April 30

QNP -The program of the Ha Long – Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2014 was officially announced in a press conference held on April 4 in Ha Long city by the Department of Culture Sports and Tourism.

The Ha Long – Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2014 will take place at the Bai Chay and Tuan Chau tourist areas and in the center of Ha Long City with attractive culture, sport and tourism events, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said.

The main activities will include Japanese cherry blossom festival, the art performance entitled “I love Ha Long”, photo exhibition, modern and folk games, cuisine festival, dance sports tournament, Ha Long tourism and trade fair, etc.

The Ha Long Carnival entitled “Quang Ninh – Convergence and Pervasion” which will be held at 8:05pm on April 30 at the Bai Chay Tourist Area will be the highlight of the tourism week, including three parts: opening ceremony, art performances on stage, carnival parade and masquerade festival. About 3,800 amateur and professional actors and actresses and local people perform before audiences. Many art troupes from China, Thailand, Laos etc. also participated in the festival. The Ha Long Carnival this year is expected to lure about 500 thousand locals and tourists. This program will be broadcasted live on Quang Ninh Television (QTV).

The Ha Long – Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2014 is not only an important event to promote the image, cultural values and landscapes of Quang Ninh province, but also contributes to enhance competitive capacity of tourism in the province. This is also a good chance to strengthen the promotion for Ha Long Bay and raise awareness of heritage conservation among locals and tourists.
