Joining Ha Long Carnival 2009

Traditional art performances on floating stages will take place around Bai Chay Ferry during the ceremony themed ‘Ha Long – World Natural Heritage Rendez-Vous’, and many activities are scheduled to take place during the carnival including a food festival, performances by domestic and international artists, sports competitions and business fairs. A festive night titled “Meeting Heritages” will feature traditional art shows such as nha nhac (Hue royal music), gongs performance of the highlands.

The closing ceremony, themed ‘Night of Shining Heritage’, will also take place at Bai Chay Ferry with an impressive firework display.

Saigontourist Travel Service Company is offering a cluster of tours departing from Hanoi and HCMC to Quang Ninh for the festival. Tours to the opening ceremony depart from Hanoi on April 25 priced from VND1.645 million to VND1.730 million per person; or from HCMC on April 23 priced at VND3.985 million to VND4.435 million per person exclusive of flight ticket for the five-day tour.

Visitors wanting to enjoy the firework display at the closing ceremony can choose the two-day tour departing from Hanoi on May 2, priced from VND1.645 million to VND1.730 million per person, or the five-day tour departing from HCMC on April 30 at a cost of VND3.985 million to VND4.435 million per person, exclusive of flight ticket.

Tours departing from Hanoi will visit Hoa Yen Pagoda in Yen Tu Mountain and pass the splendid scenery around Ha Long on the way to Quang Ninh. Meanwhile, tours departing from HCMC will include cultural relics of Hanoi such as Quan Thanh Temple, West Lake, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and a stroll around 36 ancient streets in the city. From Hanoi to Ha Long Bay the tour will stop at Ninh Binh Province to visit temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties and cruise to Bich Dong Pagoda and Tam Coc Cave, which is also known as Ha Long Bay on land.
